The Gauteng Provincial Government will hold a consultative meeting with the freight industry in an effort to re-evaluate progress achieved towards creating a smarter freight industry that contributes towards growing the economy.
The summit forms part of the Provincial Government’s continued efforts to position the Gauteng City-Region as a province of Smart Mobility.
This will assist in affirming the province as a hub of smart mobility not only in the country but in the SADC region as well.
The seminar will also focus on various aspects such as overloading, traffic congestion and depolluting the environment.
Issues such as the province’s infrastructure capacity to handle freight demand, safe sharing of road space, innovation within the freight industry as well as the use of smart solutions to improve the quality of roads will be discussed.
