REGCOMS Charity Golf Day for CANSA – 11 MAY 2018

Blue Valley Golf & Country Club is the home for the REGCOMS Charity Golf Day for CANSA and WISH UPON A STAR hosted by Reggie Marimuthu.

The field boast some of the leading corporate, gaming and hospitality companies, which includes Sun International, Emerald Resort & Casino, Sun City Vacation Club, Sun City, Time Square Casino, Emperors Palace , Carnival City, Rand Merchant Bank, Assupol, AtPaint, Pexmart, Rectron, Datcentrix, Purco SA, Boniswa, Legacysl, Foxey, UniMedia Pro and 1MARK Golf Scoring.

The name Reggie Marimuthu CEO of REGCOMS is known in many  sectors of corporate and hospitality and is respected and applauded for his contribution to the service of CSI organisations in South Africa and does this through organising charity golf events.  This is the very reason why the Board of Directors at Blue Valley Golf & Country Club enjoys being the venue host for the REGCOMS Charity. When Reggie Marimuthu arrives, then he brings with him a ‘rainbow nation of leaders’, a reflection of the man behind the wheel  driving these initiatives through charity golf into the hearts of all those who crosses his path.

In the first of three articles we will focus on CANSA Care Centres in the Northern Gauteng region who will be one of the beneficiaries of the event.

Cancer affects one in four South Africans, through self or diagnosis of family, friends and colleagues. Regardless of how cancer has affected a person; CANSA wants you to know that you are not alone in going through this phase of life. A good, caring support system is needed to help you fight the disease, therefore to provide balanced care and support, CANSA has more than 30 CANSA Care Centres situated in communities throughout South Africa.

A variety of treatments and supportive mechanisms are provided. These include, but not limited to acute and chronic wound care, stoma care, lymphedema treatment, CDT treatment, skin and nail care, special exercise, home-based care and therapy. Through the mobilization of key players, resources and volunteers; patients receive quality, therapeutic and rehabilitative care, long-term maintenance and palliative care.

CANSA relies on income from fundraising events and donations of assistive devices which include wigs, breast prostheses, hospital beds, walking frames, wheelchair and bath chairs, to name a few. The focus is access to quality health facilities and holistic care and support that will enable you to feel strong and motivated throughout all phases of need.
