Happy Birthday Yolanda Duma ‘African Star on the Rise’

Yolanda Duma celebrates her 28th birthday today while getting ready to tee off on the 2nd day of the Investec SA Women’s Open 2018 taking place at the Westlake Golf Club in Cape Town.

Yolanda Duma made her professional debut on the Sunshine Ladies Tour and the PinkStig Series in 2017 and has become iconic in light of the sport’s growth.

” The most memorable moment in my short professional career thus far has been undoubtedly my 8th place finish at the Sun PinkStig Series, which took place at Parkview Club Club.” says Yolanda Duma

Yolanda the younger sister of Siviwe Duma started playing at the age of 8 years after being influenced by her brother now playing abroad. Michelle De Vries  has been her ‘coach and mentor’ as Yolanda phrased it and has been largely influential in getting her ready to play pro golf.  Yolanda added: “I am still in the orientation phase of my new role, but I am confident that I have the game to take me to my first win on South African soil.”

In 2006 Yolanda made the team to play in Chicago against the Tiger Woods Foundation Team, also won as an amateur the Dordrecht Ladies two years in a row and just before turning pro in 2017 she won stroke play at SA Inter-provincials.
