If it wasn’t for Lali Stander, few would know what was happening on our Sunshine Ladies Tour, IGT Challenge Tour, the national amateur circuit or disabled golf. This amazing writer makes it her life’s work at every possible opportunity event to help showcase the wonderful talent we have in South Africa.
Little do we know about her personal life as she is always hopping onto a bus to get to the next event and little does she ever complain about time, meeting deadlines and telling the stories as it unfolds on the day of play. She has nurtured and motivated most of the young players to find their place on the ladies tour by how she writes and presents SA’s female golfing talents and rarely does she ever get it wrong. Her advise and counselling to the players after a bad round has resulted in some of them going on to win and it has always been Lali who would be there quietly to celebrate their little steps of successes. As a player on the Sunshine Ladies Tour, I cannot thank you enough for always being there for the girls and if we don’t say enough ‘thank you’ or express our gratitude for what you have done for us, then its because words cannot quantify what you have done for us.
As a player on the Sunshine Ladies Tour, I can’t begin to explain how grateful I am for her amazing talent. Lali has been the one who helped get the SLT to where it is today. All of the sponsors, family and friends from around the world are always up to date as she keeps the media flowing with stories. No matter if it’s the good, the bad or the ugly, Lali is the first person to inform us as to what’s happening.
We thank you Lali for everything you have done for the golfing world and on behalf of PinkStig, we wish you a very happy birthday and we look forward to working closely with you in the future.
