Blue Valley Golf & Country Club has been the home for the South African Institute of Security (SAIS) charity golf event for the past three years. In the same breathe it is the home of the PinkStig Dream Team who will be playing in the event to show their support for the SAIS initiative. The field boast 30 four balls with Sun International, Emerald Resort & Casino, Sun City Vacation Club, Sun City, Time Square Casino, Emperors Palace , Rand Merchant Bank, Assupol, Atpaint, UniMedia , 1MARK Golf Scoring, Corporate Golf and the PinkStig Dream Team leading the way.
Reggie Marimuthu CEO of REGCOM, a Fellow of the Institute for Security South Africa, serves on it’s board of governors and who has for the last 16 years proudly co ordinated the annual South Africa Security Golf Day. The name Reggie Marimuthu is known in many sectors of corporate and hospitality and is respected and applauded for his contribution to the service of The Institute for Security South Africa and now enjoys a bit more of his golf. This is the very reason why the Board of Directors at Blue Valley Golf & Country Club enjoys being the venue host of the event. When Reggie Marimuthu arrives, then he brings with him a ‘rainbow nation of leaders’, a reflection of the man behind the wheel driving the SAIS charity golf into the hearts of all those who crosses his path.
For the past three years the charity supported the Children of Fire Charity, which helps young survivors of burn injuries in South Africa and the rest of Africa and spends on educational programmes on preventative measures and rehabilitation. This year the SAIS charity golf has made Child Survivors of Crime its beneficiary Child Survivors of Crime provides support for children under the age of 18 who have been directly or indirectly affected by any criminal offence committed against them or their families. Support is in the form of counselling and therapeutic intervention, education, alleviation of physical suffering and community re-integration.
At last year’s gala dinner of the SAIS Charity Golf Day Chairperson Dave Dodge praised event organiser, and former SAIS chairman, Reggie Marimuthu, the various sponsors and the Blue Valley Golf Club for once again making the day such a huge success in support of a charity which he described as “providing essential support for some of the most vulnerable children in Southern Africa, which SAIS has been proud to be associated with for the past three years”.
