Christina Baldwin remarked that “our story is the song of a person’s life.” We need to sing it and we need someone to hear the singing. Story told, Story hear. Story written. Story read creates the web of life in words.
There is something so brave in truly sharing one’s story, the good, the bad and the ugly. The intricate, beautiful mess of human life. This is what we find the legendary South African Female Pro Golfer Sally Little’s “Capturing the Fire,” where humour contrasts the honesty of admitting to losses and celebrating battles we never knew were being fought.
The more we tell our stories, the more power their message carries to the point where content can change the character of a sport. Journey with us as we explore not only Little’s story, but the happy and the heart-breaking in each of the UniMedia Pro Females’ lives.
As Sally Little stated when explaining her motivation for writing her new book: “the story must be written, so it can be published, so it can be read, so it can bring change.”
Story told, Story hear. Story written. Story read.
Mikaela Oosthuizen will be presenting several excerpts of the book as we build up to the 4th October and give UniMedia readers some insight into the book.
