KPMG has endeavoured to empower women both on the golf course and in the boardroom.
The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit are such undertakings that drive this vision. The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is a tournament aimed at aggrandising women’s golf. KPMG has thus aligned itself with powerhouses such as the PGA of America and the LPGA Tour. This association is evidence enough that KPMG has laboured to endorse the advancement and empowerment of women.
LPGA luminary and business enterpriser, Annika Sorenstam was presented with the 2016 KPMG Inspire Greatness Award at the KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit this year. This award is reserved for industrious pacemaker’s who dedicate themselves to the upliftment of the community and the empowerment of women and future generations to come, all the time using golf as a development mechanism.
In addition to walking away with the 2016 KPMG Inspire Greatness Award, Annika served as the keynote speaker at the Summit. This event held such meaning and weight that it attracted leaders from a myriad of industries, that span across media, business, and politics.
KPMG U.S. Chairman and CEO Lynne Doughtie had this to say at the Summit in respect of Annika and past winners: “Exemplary leaders inspire rising generations by demonstrating and redefining what is possible, and helping to pave the way for their future successes.”
